Acu-Prime Series - Cure Accelerators and Anaerobic Primers

Chem-Mat's Acu-Prime is a highly reactive surface primer designed to speed the cure rate of Chem-Mat's anaerobic adhesives. It is particularly useful in bonding applications for less active metal surfaces such as stainless steel, zinc, pure aluminum, cadmium, silver, gold, or chemical black oxides. It also accelerates cure speed at cold temperature environment. Before the application of a primer, surface should be as clean as possible, however, for acetone based Acu-Prime N, it can also acts as a cleaner where surface cleaning is impossible. Chem-Mat's Acu-Prime 1793 Cure Accelerator is used to accelerate the curing rate of cyanoacrylate (CA) instant adhesives on inactive (i.e., polyolefins), or acidic surfaces. The curing of CA requires a basic or free radical source as an initiator to initiate anionic or free radical polymerization reactions. Any acidic ingredients tend to slow down or even inhibit the anionic curing of CA adhesives. This accelerator can neutralize acidic ingredients on the surface and provide the basic initiator. The accelerator also increases the gap filling of CA adhesives. Thus, the curing of CA in a large gap within a few seconds is possible. Chem-Mat Acu-Prime 1793 is used not only as a curing accelerator, but also as an adhesion promoter for bonding polyolefins, silicone and other low surface energy substrates, as well.
